Der ESA-Astronaut Thomas Pesquet (FR) wird mit einem SpaceX Crew Dragon-Raumschiff zur ISS fliegen. Der zweite Einsatzflug mit der Besatzung Crew-2 soll Anfang 2021 starten. Er wird mit den NASA-Astronauten Shane Kimbrough, Megan McArthur und JAXA-Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide fliegen.
Seine Mission heißt „ALPHA“. Dies ist nach Alpha Centauri, dem der Erde am nächst gelegenen Sternensystem, nach französischer Tradition, nach Sternen oder Sternbildern benannt.

L’astronaute de l’ESA Thomas Pesquet (FR) rejoindra la Station spatiale internationale (ISS) à bord d’un vaisseau spatial Crew Dragon de SpaceX. La deuxième mission, Crew-2, devrait être lancée début 2021. Il sera accompagné des astronautes de la NASA Shane Kimbrough et Megan MacArthur, ainsi que de l’astronaute de la JAXA Akihiko Hoshide.
Sa mission est baptisée « ALPHA ». Ce nom, fidèle à la tradition française, est dérivé d’Alpha Centauri, le système stellaire le plus proche de la Terre, et s’inspire des étoiles ou des constellations.
